A Comment Worthy of Sharing

Our British colleague, Jim Laing, sent a great comment via email after our most recent Leading Trends. It deserves to be reprinted here.

“… the interim period may well be a great opportunity for an existing senior manager to step up to the podium and really deliver. There may be someone (perhaps the deputy) who has worked with, and importantly in my view, respected the outgoing head. They understand what makes the culture work (or not work!) and have been seriously involved in longer term strategic planning. They might be perfect for the job and should not be overlooked just because the Board, and perhaps parents, are hell bent on ‘new blood’.”

Well said, Jim.
